I also think jalapenos is genius.

[*****] I was making turkey soup and wanted a cheese pull-apart bread to go with it, and your recipe came up on Google. WOW!! 5 STARS!!! We could not keep away from it and ate more than half the loaf, yikes. I subbed some things because of preference and ingredients on hand: 1C AP flour, 2C white WW flour, smoked gouda, 2.25 cups milk, no egg, dark brown sugar, and the same herbs as in the soup. After my wonderful bread machine did all the work, I pressed the dough flat and cut it into squares. It was just great! Next time I’ll use less oil; a Misto would be perfect here. Melted butter would be good too. This method of incorporating the additions can be used for anything! My next one will be sharp cheddar and jarred sliced jalapenos; I could never get the cheese right and this way will be perfect. Thanks so much for making this delicious and versatile recipe available! I think I’ll have to try the Cake Pops too.

I moved my blog and re-did the posts, so the old comments didn’t make it over. Here is what you would need to do – You can definitely do it by hand. You will have to proof the yeast in warm water and stir in the sugar first. Then you’ll need to let it rise a couple of hours and then knead it before pulling it apart and dunking into the herb and garlic mixture and letting it rise again.

Also, you said in the recipe to see the comments on how to make it without a bread machine, but I don’t see anything here..Thanks!
